How easy it is to wheelie an ebike is one of Mario's most important test in deciding if the bike is any good
The start position is key. With the pedal position in the 2 o'clock position place your body weight slightly forward. Head up and a wide stance with the arms, balance is the key to starting on a hill.
Start with your strongest foot in the 2 o'clock position
Select second gear in most cases, to avoid spinning out the rear wheel
Put your saddle at about 80 percent of maximum height and your body weight should be hovering just above the nose of the saddle.
Use Turbo mode, thats what it is there for to give the extra boost needed.
Maintain the body position you first selected as you start to ride.
Approach is everything, start quite far back down the trail, your momentum that you have will help carry the bike over the small step-up.
As you approach the feature let your body weight rise and lift the front wheel slightly
Immediately then move your weight forward and down as the front wheel crests the feature
Maintain your weight forward which will bring the rear of the bike along, keep pedalling to maintain momentum
As the rear wheel crests the feature put your weight back again on the saddle to maintain grip and keep riding
Start a long way back with your weight forward and in the first gear start pedalling fast...
Lean forward and squash low, the front wheel might lift, at this point its importnat to keep the pressure on the pedals.
As you make it to the crest of the hill start to bear off to a direction, to ease the climb...
The bike should settle more easily and that boost of power you gave standing up will hopefully carry you over the top.
Dont stop until the bike is over the ridge line
Approach the rocks slightly standing on the pedals and ready to react, keep your speed up and make sure you get ready to time your pedal stokes to avoid hitting the rocks
Push your weight forward and lift off the sadle
Lean the bike whilst pedalling to avoid a rock strike
Keep it moving and redahjust the angle of the bike as the pedals on the other side come close to striking
Roll through and give another burst of power, straighten the bike and keep going
Its all about how you enter the corner, keep the bike loose and take the corner wide
Stand up on the pedals and lean the bike over a bit with your body leaning to the outside of the corner.
Riasing your outside elbow will improve your body positioning and keep the bike moving in a corner, look where you want to go with your eyes and head...
the bike should follow where you were looking, look ahead outside of the corner, keep leaning the bike inwards a bit.
Exit the corner with the power always on and flow into the next corner...
Approach the compression and stand up in fourth gear
keep pedalling but let the bike g-out as the surface direction changes.
He starts a long way back and focuses on where he wants to go.
MArio does not slow down he lets the bike run up the rock, with the saddle in the low position he starts to stand tall.
This is the critical moment and when mario adds the hop, dragging the back of the bike up the front of the step up.
The bike keeps moving forward, Mario looks for grip and jumps upwards more draggin the bike with him, notice the rear tyre has low pressure so grips the rock hard.
He makes it ove rthe ridige and keeps pedalling.
Want to fly, Mario shows us how next time...
